Instagramaholic

I love Instagram so much. Like a lot. When I started hearing people talk about this app months ago, I was like yeah, yeah a camera- big deal. But then you can play with the photos, make them darker, lighter, prettier, vintage-r (?)....want a border? Got that too!

So basically I am Instagrammically obsessed. I seldom use my digital camera anymore, unless we are on a trip somewhere. I love being able to see everyone's photos, even friends and family who live far away. It is kind of cool to see what they "see". Below are some of the highlights of my Instagram activity. If you are an Instagramma come follow me: nicolec82. Also if you have one I would love to follow you back! Just leave your username in the comments or message me!

The Bloggess Book

So, I picked up Jenny Lawson's book before vacation and read through that thing so fast! The book is freaking hilarious, and since I was reading it on the beach, I am sure people around me thought I was insane as I laughed out loud like every 5 minutes. Her quirkiness, interesting childhood, and sense of humor kept me drawn in and I could not put the book down!

Here is the book, if you haven't heard of it (yet):

And Jenny's blog, which is just as great:

Have any of the rest of you read it? I have already passed this on to a friend, I highly recommend!

Our Hilton Head Vacay!

Hi guys! Sorry for the brief hiatus. The week before vacay was CRAY-ZAY between work being nuts and getting everything ready to go. Then the week of vacay we both did not pack our laptops, to make it a true "vacation". Alas, I did take some Instagram photos with my Iphone, and catch up on some of your blogs as well at night during my down time.

So here we go, I will give you a quick run down of our vacation, and then some pics.

Food:
- One Hot Mama's was our favorite place there. Awesome rib/wing joint, with the best cornbread I have ever had. This place was really cool because the interior walls are brick, and they let you write your names on the wall. We ate here twice.

- Salty Dog Cafe: I don't think you are allowed to come to Hilton Head and not eat here. The restaurant is in a section with 2 other Salty Dog chain restaurants, but we went with the original. The food was so-so, the service was great. We didn't have high expectations, but went just to say we went.

-Truffles Cafe: A very close tie with One Hot Mama's, this place was really good. Very modern atmosphere and a great menu. The best blondie dessert EVER! We didn't discover this place until our last day and were sad we didn't get to eat here more. Sorry no pic of this place, but here is a cute pic of Lana rocking her Salty Dog bandana:

Stuff we did:
Bike rides: We rented bikes once we got there, after we discovered all of the bike trails in the area we stayed. We rode every day to different parts of the island:

Harbour Town
Ruins of Baynard Plantation, built in 1790

Stayed away from our backyard alligator:

Went to the beach with the pups:

Went and saw this super cool, OLD tree:

And most importantly relaxed, slept in, and didn't work! We had a blast in Hilton Head, our first and definitely not last, trip there.

I'm still here!

Okay so let me apologize for not posting in awhile! Some little notes on the last few weeks: I am getting the hang of my work schedule and adjusting well. Boy does it feel good to be earning a paycheck again, versus taking tests on medical vocabulary and proper sentence structure. I strained my rotator cuff on my left shoulder last week, no bueno. I've had a lot of ice packs and pain meds in my daily routine. Doc said I have to be very easy on it, so I don't end up getting a tear. So I have been and things are on the mend. On a good note t-minus 9 days until we head to Hilton Head for vacay! We are so happy to be bringing our furkids with us. It helps me relax more too, not worrying about leaving them behind. It is so close I can practically smell the salt in the air! So basically this post is to tell you I am still here and heart you guys! Once normalcy is restored I will have some more fun stuff on here!

What's on your DVR?

Okay, so I am a self-admitted crappy TV programming addict. Many of these shows I am a "closet" watcher of.

Why do I watch this show? Why can't Frankie and Gigi get it together? Olivia's boyfriend terrifies me!

Yeah, I know you are judging me. Can Whitney please get rid of those bow tattoos? BLECH!

I am openly in love with this show. Everything about it.

Rob Dyrdek basically gets paid to be a child. I love Big Black!

I just love them. Last week's season premiere had me bawling!

Also, love them. Their love is so cute, and they treat their dogs like children.
I just love her. Schmidt is hilarious.

Too funny. PENNY CAN!!!

Also, so funny.

Okay, I have watched this from day one. And let me just say, I MISS MICHAEL SCOTT. Toby just does not carry the show in my opinion. I still watch because I do love me some Jim and Pam.

I love Leslie Knope. RIP Sebastian.

Do you guys watch these/any of these too? This post made me realize that I watch too much TV. But honestly I usually just DVR them and watch them later. I am totally spoiled by not having to watch commercials with the DVR. Commercials are lame.

The garden this week.

Hi guys! I am back! I think I am getting into the new work schedule, and getting adjusted. Everything is going great, still learning something new everyday!

Little by little I have been getting my garden beds up to par, and I snapped some pics of everything that was blooming last week. Enjoy!

Geraniums. I love them so, but wish they came back every year!

My sweet little gnome found a home (I RHYMED!) in my snapdragons.

Pillow Talk Calla Lilies, so pretty!

Lily of the Valley, my first bloom on them since planting last year!

African Daisy

Pincushion Flower

Our backyard. I love how green everything is!

So how are your greenthumbs? Anything new and fun? Killed anything? :)

Lana's 8th Birthday

Hi guys! Sorry I have been away, we have had a busy week including me starting my new job! Trying to get used to a new schedule was my goal last week. However this weekend we took some time out to party for Lana's 8th birthday!

As many of you know our dogs are our children. We do everything big for them, including birthdays. So we made sure she had a fun day of being a spoiled pup!

Lana helping me make her birthday biscuits.

Cookies, fresh out of the oven.

Ready to party!

Gift time!

Lana's favorite, her Humunga Lips!

As seen here :)

Wrapped the day up with some sprinkler time, her favorite!
